Marco Polo Location Sharing App

Designer, prompt engineer, builder, conductor, director

The Problem

We frequently need to share our location with friends, family, or colleagues who are meeting or expecting us. Traditional methods like navigating through complex map-sharing features; describing landmarks; or finding, copying, and sending address text can be cumbersome and time-consuming.

The Product

Marco Polo is a location-sharing app inspired by the classic swimming pool game where one person calls "Marco" and others respond "Polo" to help locate them. The app brings this familiar concept to real-world location sharing and provides a simple way to share your exact location instantly. It was designed and built entirely using AI tools.

Process

Built with Cursor. I wrote exactly zero lines of code, created exactly zero mockups, and designed the app by telling the AI how I wanted it to look. Working with a large language model is like collaborating with a super smart, super patient partner (if you're doing it right). My favorite part is that it never says "can't".

This app collects no data, stores no data, and has no connection to an external database. I can't control what Google collects, but you are free to use and share this app as much as you want for free.

Android protects users from inadvertent download and install of unknown apps, or apps from sources other than Google Play, which is trusted. Android blocks such installs until the user opts into allowing the installation of apps from other sources. When you open the file, your device will prompt you to change the setting.
